The recommended guidebook Caribbean with Kids, calls the Atlantis Bahamas "one of the most lavish properties in the entire Caribbean". This is one of the largest hotel complexes in the world, with endless rows of shops and
watersports galore. Both children and adults will enjoy the 5.5-hectare (14-acre) sea world with water slides, a lagoon for watersports, white sandy beaches, and underground grottoes plus an underwater viewing tunnel and 240m (800 ft.) of cascading waterfalls.
The Atlantis Bahamas grounds are in fact a 14-acre water paradise with waterfalls, streams, flowers, and lagoons filled with fish and marine life. With 11 exhibit lagoons and 11 million gallons of water, the resort claims it has the "largest marine habitat in the world". Underwater viewing tunnels help you take in the sights. There's a shark tank, stingray tank, lots more.
Atlantis Bahamas guests also have access to a 7-acre snorkeling lagoon, 11 swimming pools, or at the 3-mile white-sand beach.
Kids will especially love the Atlantis Bahamas waterslides. The steepest rides take off from a five-story Mayan Temple: a 60-ft. vertical drop ends in a clear tunnel inside a shark-filled lagoon. There's also a pair of Challenger slides where you can race your friends, a Jungle slide, and a lazy river ride.
Water sloshes in the Atlantis Bahamas lobby too, in waterfalls and burbling pools. Other Atlantis features: a giant casino, 23 restaurants, and a spa.the Atlantis' Discovery Channel Camp for kids 4-12 emphasizes learning (as opposed to the video games at some resorts). For ex. kids explore Base Camp, a replica of a sunken Spanish Galleon. The Camp also has a technology lab, arts and crafts, and expeditions around the water areas.
Even if you're not a guest of the hotel, you can tour the Atlantis grounds but it does not include access to the pools or waterslides.
