The Atlantis Bahamas grounds are in fact a 14-acre water paradise with waterfalls, streams, flowers, and lagoons filled with fish and marine life. With 11 exhibit lagoons and 11 million gallons of water, the resort claims it has the "largest marine habitat in the world". Underwater viewing tunnels help you take in the sights. There's a shark tank, stingray tank, lots more.

Atlantis Bahamas guests also have access to a 7-acre snorkeling lagoon, 11 swimming pools, or at the 3-mile white-sand beach.

Water sloshes in the Atlantis Bahamas lobby too, in waterfalls and burbling pools. Other Atlantis features: a giant casino, 23 restaurants, and a spa.the Atlantis' Discovery Channel Camp for kids 4-12 emphasizes learning (as opposed to the video games at some resorts). For ex. kids explore Base Camp, a replica of a sunken Spanish Galleon. The Camp also has a technology lab, arts and crafts, and expeditions around the water areas.

Even if you're not a guest of the hotel, you can tour the Atlantis grounds but it does not include access to the pools or waterslides.

Sheraton Cable Beach Hotel is another kid friendly hotel in the Bahamas

A family could spend their entire vacation on the grounds of this vast resort. Spacious enough to offer families opportunities an active or restful vacation. The resort centers on its 7-acre open-air beachfront waterscape section. The section features tropical gardens, palm trees, and expansive sundecks, and includes swimming pools, a swim-up bar, pool and Ping-Pong tables, a basketball hoop, and a children's clubhouse and outdoor playground. The pool area features the most lavish artificial waterfall short of going to the South Pacific and the health club at the nearby Crystal Palace welcomes both guests and their children.

For Sheraton Cable Beach Resort guests aged 4 to 12, the Sheraton Adventure Club offers daily and evening activities and hands-on educational programs. Club activities include Bahamian arts and crafts, beach bowling and other beach games, swimming activities, video games, junior chef cooking classes, and field trips to the market.

For a more low key family hotel, try the Regatta Point in George Town, Great Exuma

This resort offers efficiency apartments at moderate prices. On a palm-grove cay, it is family-friendly, with its own little beach. Bikes are available, and Sunfish boats can be rented. There's also a grocery store nearby where you can pick up supplies. Many units are suitable for families of four or five. You can also catch the nearby ferry to Stocking Island for some of the best beach combing and shelling in the Bahamas... don't forget your snorkeling gear, there are some great spots to see!
