Destin Attraction - Family Vacation in Florida's Emerald Coast

Florida’s Emerald Coast Area includes Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, Niceville and Okaloosa Island.

The beaches of Northwest Florida, from Pensacola Beach to the eastern stretches of the Beaches of South Walton, is known for its clear blue-green waters and snow white sand.

A great place for families, you can enjoy miles of beachfront on fine sugary sand. The calm Gulf waters are ideal for wading or swimming and are great for young kids.

Picnic tables, showers and concession stands are among the many conveniences available at recreation areas along the coast.

Family fun is everywhere once you head inland and explore Northwest Florida's numerous museums and historic sites, just minutes from the beach.

Museums, historic homes and an archaeological trail through downtown historic districts make it an entertaining and educational way to explore the area’s colorful past.

Together with Fort Walton Beach and Okaloosa Island, Destin is part of a 24-mile stretch of silky white sand beach in Northwest Florida known as the Emerald Coast.

These include the Gulfarium, a marine life park, the Focus Center, a children's museum; and the Indian Temple Mound Museum and Park, site of the largest American Indian burial mound on Florida's coast.

Families will also love the other Destin attraction including various water sports to keep the kids busy including fishing tournaments, snorkeling, sailing races, and other local fun and games.

Watersports include body surfing and Boogie boards (complimentary). Kids might also enjoy the Junior Golf Academy, with excellent instructors.
